The expedition was the most talked about news throughout the UK on Wednesday, reaching hundreds of thousands of people within just 12 hours.
The news was covered in the likes of the Independent, BBC News, Mail Online to name a few and his video produced by “Standby Productions”, received well in excess of 100,000+ views.
Ash said “It is all about the team and I’m fortunate to have a great team. We have worked hard to make sure we deliver the expedition with a boom, we all had individual roles which when all put together, proved invaluable. The expedition has been received so well by people from all over the world; I’ve received hundreds and hundreds of messages, from well wishes, people showing their support and looking forward to follow the journey, which is what it’s all about. I really want to share the journey as best I can with as many people as possible.”
The day saw a gathering of Ash’ team and sponsors, coming together in “The Pagination”, London’s financial district in Canary Wharf, to celebrate the launch of the long planned world first. Sponsors flew to London from the likes of Spain and Switzerland, to gather photos, videos and help distribute the exciting news. It certainly went down as Ash’ greatest announcement to date!
Ash says “The support has been overwhelming and I’d like to personally and genuinely thank everyone for being behind me, team members, sponsors and the public – it’s been incredible and is only just the beginning.”.
Ash is now back in North Wales, planning, liaising, going through logistics, kit and training. He also reveals that he has been secretly learning Mandarin for when he flies out to China.
